Pouring Hot And Cold

Last week was business as usual in Chennai. Fans of a top actress installed a picture of her in front of a movie theater and then poured milk down it.

Trisha, the ‘Numero Uno’ actress of south India, is celebrating her birthday today. She is shooting for Bheema and a Telugu film simultaneously in Hyderabad, where she has been holed up for the last 10 days.

… Jesi, a resident of Chennai and one of her crazy fans along with some other women activists celebrated her birthday in style by putting up huge banners at various vantage points in the city that read – “Happy Birthday Trisha – our dream angel” and had even conducted paal abhishekam ( poured milk on it) for her picture in front of Kamala theatre. A SilverScreen reporter managed to get a few soundbytes out of one of the activists.

“Why milk?”

“We wanted to see if it would make her clothes transparent.”

“Well, did it?”

“It actually made her clothes pretty soggy, and tore her blouse off.”

“Great, what happened then?”

“We realized it wasn’t a big deal, and went off to burn banners of Perarasu. That was way more fun. Why don’t you write about it?”

“We sure will.”

Fans of actor Ajithkumar (the hottie at the end of this post) are pissed, and rightfully so. His latest movie sucked bigtime, but that’s not why they are angry.

“We are used to it,” a fan told us over the phone. “In fact, his movies have all sucked.”

“So why do you like him?”

The fan waxed philosophical at this question. “Life is full of nasty surprises, but Ajith is not – he is consistently bad. We love him. I’d lay down my life for him, our sucky little fat brat darling.”

The fans are angry because there is a new kid on the block, and the new kid is threatening to suck more than their idol.

Angry fans of Ajith held protests in various theatres where Tirupathi was screened alleging that the director Perarasu has tried to overshadow their hero in the film by playing a role which has punch dialogues and stunt sequences.

The angry fans have demanded the scenes to be chopped off from the movie. [Link]

Perarasu is deeply shocked and disappointed of Tirupathi’s result. He even pasted posters and mounted banners for himself in the theatres which released Tirupathi. [Link]

“This man was pathetic,” the fan continued. “He was pathetic in Sivakasi, he was pathetic in Tirupaachi. And now he dares to appear in front of the camera and mouth ridiculous dialogues. Fool. Who does he think he is? Another Ajith?”

Then the fan took leave from us so that he could pour several liters of high octane gasoline on a banner of the hapless director. Another fan then took a flame to it. After this, they went to a screening of the movie and showed their anger by borrowing a towel and throwing it on the projector whenever Perarasu was on the screen.

“Does this mean you are throwing in the towel,” we asked the fan in a follow up call.

“Haven’t you seen the stills from Godfather?” he asked me.

We have, and we stand corrected.
